Welcome to Troy Harlan’s (AKA “TheInfovore”) first blog. Not much blogging going on here yet, but please stay tuned.
About Me
I’m a Product Manager (currently looking) living in Portland, Oregon. My wife and I moved here from San Francisco in October ’07. We love to travel and to ski (alpine – not any of that cross country stuff).
I grew up in small town Indiana. Two of my grandparents were Amish, but I was more into the pies and trampolines at reunions than horse and buggies, etc. I played all kinds of sports growing up, but only when my parents could yank me away from the Atari 2600 or Commodore 64.
Apparently I like to move or be on the move since graduating high school I have (thanks mostly to work) lived/worked in the following cities (in order):
- West Lafayette, IN (college)
- St. Louis, MO (3 college semesters for engineering co-op)
- Houston, TX (2 college semesters for engineering co-op)
- Chicago, IL (Home ’97 – ’99)
- Munich, Germany (4 month project)
- San Francisco, CA (Home ’99 – ’07)
- Houston, TX (2 year project)
- Detroit, MI (5 month project)
- Memphis, TN (5 month project)
- New York City, NY (4 month project)
- Miami, FL (4 month project)
- Fargo, ND (4 month project)
- Portland, OR (Home ’07 – present)
